New customers broaden the reach of
Macmillan English Campus

Macmillan English Campus (MEC) is delighted to announce the signature this month of two new contracts.

The first of these is a 2-year pilot contract with the British Council which was signed on the 3rd November 2005. The British Council will pilot the Macmillan English Campus in three of their teaching centres in Asia and Europe from January 2006. Demand for the Macmillan English Campus beyond these three initial sites will then be explored by trialing the project at a number of other teaching centres throughout 2006/7.

   The British Council is the UK's international organisation for educational opportunities and cultural relations, operating in 220 towns and cities in 110 countries and territories worldwide.

The pilot was signed at the British Council's headquarters at Spring Gardens, London. The event was attended by representatives from both parties, including Dr Bhaskar Chakravarti, Director of Teaching and Examinations at the British Council, and Peter Mothersole, Managing Director of MEC.

The second contract signed by Macmillan English Campus this month is with Embassy CES, a division of the Study Group education company. Study Group Ltd provides English Language training at 20 locations in Australia, Canada, New Zealand, the UK and the US. They have signed a two-year contract with Macmillan English Campus.

Macmillan English Campus is now being used in over 30 countries worldwide. Following a number of important contracts secured over the summer (see our previous newsletters for further information), these latest agreements demonstrate our commitment to working with the most significant institutions in the ELT world.

Feedback from all our users will be used to shape the development of MEC both technically and editorially to ensure that the Macmillan English Campus continues to address the changing needs of teachers and learners worldwide.
