Getting the best out of the English Campus
If you are already using the Macmillan English Campus in your school or university, you’ll no doubt have discovered how many useful applications it can have for your teaching needs.
The MEC team in London is continually amazed at how innovative our users are at finding ways of using the English Campus with their students. In fact, the English Campus has just about as many applications and uses as you have time and imagination to discover!
To share some of these ideas with you, this month’s newsletter outlines the experience of just one school that has successfully implemented the Macmillan English Campus: the International House school in Palermo, Italy.
Using the English Campus with IH Palermo students
The IH Campus is currently being used by International House schools worldwide.
At IH Palermo Centro Storico, the Campus was launched in October 2005 and now has over 300 English language learners logged on at pre-intermediate level and above. It is currently used alongside their existing coursebooks as an integrated online learning resource.
Even in the short space of time that the school has used it, the IH Campus has been a terrific success amongst the students. In fact, as the diagram below shows, from a user satisfaction survey carried out amongst 60 students in December 2005, over 80% agreed that the Campus was ‘very useful’ or ‘quite useful’ to their learning needs.
