Rolling out the new MEC Portal
The Macmillan English Campus (MEC) has been adopted by language teaching institutions worldwide. There are students now using MEC at almost all the points of the globe ranging from Brazil to Italy and from Thailand to Chile.
For every one of our customers, Macmillan English Campus is continually looking for ways to develop and enhance the functionality of MEC to make it easier and more effective to use. In this month's newsletter we are delighted to present the latest development we have rolled out to our users the brand new MEC Portal.
Why have we developed the MEC Portal?
Because it is online, the Macmillan English Campus is highly flexible and can be used by different institutions in different ways. Each MEC is particular to the customer: no one else has access to that site.
The portal will sit in front' of the user's own English Campus as a doorway to the site. Previously, MEC clients have used their own administration system to manage their users and classes. The new MEC Portal is designed to take over that role, providing basic user management functions for nominated administrators.
Why is this important?

By enhancing both the administration and the security of MEC it will save valuable time and resources for our users.

By providing autonomy to local branches it can help reduce the turnaround time in which new users can be loaded and have access to their English Campus.
How does the MEC Portal function?
The MEC Portal performs two functions for the user:

As you can see from the screenshots below, the graphic interface of the MEC Portal is easy to navigate, whether for an administrator adding new students to a class (top screenshot) or for a student accessing their English Campus for the first time (bottom screenshot).
The MEC Portal demonstrates Macmillan's ongoing commitment to support our users in all aspects of using the English Campus. The MEC Portal is now part of the subscription package and comes at no additional cost to the client.
